ABOUT US:

Team Washington Lacrosse is a non-profit organization developed to showcase the top 20 high school players in the state, every year, on a national level. At the conclusion of the 2011 boy’s high school season, the head coaches of every high school team can nominate their best players to the coaching staff of Team Washington. All freshman, sophomores and juniors are eligible. These nominated players, as well as all WHSBLA Division 1 All-State selections, will be invited to a free open try-out in June.

The Team Washington coaching staff will be comprised of the two head coaches from the WHSBLA Division I state champion and runner-up teams from the previous year. If either of these coaches is unable to participate, the position will be offered to the head coach of the 3rd ranked team, and so on down the line. Every year the head coaches from new state and runner-up teams will be offered these positions. Once the final roster of 20 players is selected by the Team Washington coaching staff, the team will practice together for 6 weeks during June and July.  The 6 weeks together will culminate with a trip to the east coast to participate in a national high school recruiting tournament. Prior to the tournament, Team Washington will also play several Northwest all-star teams (i.e. Team Oregon, Team B.C., etc.). Participation with Team Washington will not interfere or conflict with other off-season lacrosse activities.

Once chosen to the team there is no cost to the players. All travel expenses, tournament fees, uniforms and practice-facilities will be paid for by Team Washington Lacrosse  The mission of Team Washington is to raise national awareness of the ability level of high school lacrosse in Washington. By raising national awareness we hope to open doors for future Washington high school players that wish to play college lacrosse around the country. Team Washington will be holding one fundraiser in the form of a week long youth lacrosse camp in June/July (6/27/11 - 7/1/11). “Team Washington Lacrosse Camp” will be open to all outgoing 6th, 7th & 8th grade lacrosse players from the 2011 season. The camp will be instructed by the Team Washington players and coaching staff. All proceeds from the camp will go directly to support Team Washington.
